External DVR's with Streaming Service??
I really don't like moving into an area with only 1 service provider for cable and having support direct me to forums, but here goes. No search function in this forum? UGH! Someone may have answered this already.
I don't like the idea of my DVR recordings disappearing, so can I use a non-DirecTV DVR? If so, does it have to be a particular brand?

There is a search on this forum at the top. "I'm looking for..."
Recordings are in the cloud....they aren't recorded to a device. You cannot use an external dvr.

I'm using a computer @Ludwick577 and am very computer literate. No search button, link, text box, etc. LOL
No, "I'm looking for..." or I would've found that one. It's probably around here somewhere, but I got my answer because I went back into support and got through. The answer is NO! Figures they'd force us to use their DVR that deletes recordings after 9 months. :(

The search (I'm looking for) is at the top of the page. I also told you there is no external dvr that will work with Dtv Stream

Yeah, I see it now, but it wasn't there before. I'm having speed problems with this AT&T internet service and some things don't display. I also won't allow these businesses to put cookies on my computer, so there's that. Anywayyyyyy...
