Gemini Air remote to Samsung N5300

I just bought a Samsung N5300.  I connected the Directv Gemini Air to the Samsung.  I performed the setup partially, it stops when i tried to use Standard or Manual to connect to the TV.  I put in Samsung as the tv and the Directv software keeps looking for it on it's search, it will go on and on without finding the TV.  I have to back out.   I can control the channel, but no volume. What is the problem

Hi, @georgewoo. Let's try to unpair your DIRECTV remote from Gemini Air device. Follow these steps:

1. Press and hold DASH (–) and APPS or Diamond buttons until you see the LED lights on the remote blink blue twice. 
 2. Restart your Gemini (DIRECTV) device by pressing and releasing the red button on the side of the device. You can also unplug your device and then plug it back in.

When your Gemini (DIRECTV) device is back on, pair the remote again:

3. Point the remote at your Gemini (DIRECTV) device.
4. Press and hold FAST FORWARD and REWIND at the same time for 2-3 seconds. When they pair, you’ll get an onscreen message that your remote is ready to use. Arlyn, DIRECTV Community Specialist

I performed steps 1 through 4.

after step 4, I get a message saying Pairing Ready to Use.

I tried to change volume with Gemini Remote, I get message saying, "Want to remote control TV or speakers, Let do it."  Then message say " How would you like to program Remote, Standard or Manual"  I tried both, it ask what brand is TV.  It goes into search mode and never completes.  That's when I have to back out.  The Gemini remote will change channels, but unable to change volume.  When I turn off on the Gemini remote, it turns off the Gemini device, but does not turn off the TV.  I have to use the Samsung remote to turn off the TV.   Any other suggestions?
