Gemini streaming device

Isn't one- no charge-Gemini streaming device supposed to be included with a new Directv streaming account? I was told over the phone that I would receive a Gemini streaming device no matter how I signed up for the service---over the phone or online.  I ultimately signed up online because I wanted to avoid a 2yr contract but there was no mention of an included Gemini device or that it was going to be shipped to me.  I would like to avoid calling Directv directly as they seem to have a totally inept customer service department and am hoping I can get a little help from a forum member before I go out and purchase a streaming device. Thanks!

Directv has 2 streaming services.  There is Directv Stream (BYOD) bring your own device(s) there is no 2-year contract or fees and Directv does not provide you with a Gemini device.  Then there is Directv Stream Via Internet.  This has a 2-year contract and fees and Directv provides you with a Gemini device at no charge for the first device.  Since you signed up online there is a good chance that you signed up for Directv Stream (BYOD) which is why you have not received a Gemini device.  If you have your heart set on having a Gemini device you can always try to purchase one from a third-party seller just make sure that they accept returns as some devices if they were not deactivated correctly will not work no matter what you do.  If you have any more questions please feel free to ask as that is what we are all here for.

We're getting a new roof on our house next week and we wanted to ditch the Directv dish. A couple of our tvs are already set up with the Directv app but a couple of them aren't. I just wanted to be sure of what I actually needed before I placed an order.  I've been doing a lot of research on streaming services and decided to go with the Directv streaming service because they are the only service that offer all of the channels that we watch.  I've talked over the phone to several Directv customer service people in the past week to hopefully get a better idea of their streaming service and I got lots of different answers to my questions and concerns---sometimes from the same people in the same conversation!!  Their customer service is horrible!!  I'm hoping the actual streaming experience is a smooth and trouble free one---fingers crossed. Thanks for your help!
