Genie Air Issues

We've had the Gemini Air for 5 months.  It drops the signal several times a week and we have to do a hard reset. We just had it exchanged and the new one is also dropping the signal.  I know it isn't the internet/wifi because we stream 2 other tvs and never have a problem.  It is extremely frustrating to say the least.

The signal strength of the WiFi could be weak by where your Gemini Air is. How do other devices perform in the room of the Gemini Air? Run a speedtest at speedtest.net (when in the room of the Gemini Air) and report back both the upload and download speeds.

We're sorry for the trouble you're experiencing with your Gemini Air device. We want nothing more than for you to enjoy using it without problems. Let's try the following steps here to check if your internet connection is stable:

Press Home on your Gemini remote.
1. Choose Settings, then Help.
2. Select Troubleshooting, then Run Network Diagnostics.
3. Refer to LED Statuses:

Off = No power
Solid Red = Insufficient power
White = ON and connected with a strong signal
Yellow = On and connected with weak signal
Flashing Red = No router or internet connection, searching for connection
Red and Blue transition during the boot process = red indicates powering up and doing power verification, and blue indicates passing the power check and continuing to boot.

Swap the device to one of the other TV's to see if the issue follows the device.

There are many factors as to why your Gemini Air could be dropping your Wi-Fi signal.  It could be the location of your Gemini Air in your room, how many walls the signal has to travel through, how many devices you have connected to your Wi-Fi and even your Wi-Fi speed.  All these things can affect connectivity.  Your best bet would be to start with a speed test on your device by downloading a Speed Test app. The one I use is Speed Test Wifi Analyzer analiti.  This should help rule out your Wi-Fi speed as being an issue.

I found out that by moving the gemini from hdmi1 to hdmi2 I got rid of the problem of dropping the signal. The phone circuit worked better and the resolution is better.
