Getting faster internet
We were already with ATT. Good ole u-verse. We switched to stream and are getting a faster internet this weekend. We already have everything so will this be a flip of the switch, or do they need to do something inside or outside?
just wondering

Thank you that’s what I thought but they are like be sure someone 18 or older is home🤪. Don’t want to have things messed up before the playoff games😎

That's a question you should be asking the internet installer. All DirecTV Stream requires is a sufficient internet speed and a streaming device.

Keep in mind that this message board is for DIRECTV stream, not AT&T Internet. That message board is at https://forums.att.com . As far as DIRECTV stream is concerned, the change of service speed will at worst cause one-time change in your public dynamic IP address and cause you to need to rest your home network address.
However, the upgrade of Internet speed may indeed require someone to visit/enter your home, and someone 18 or older must be present the entire time the installer is there. It depends on what technology/bandwidth you have and what technology bandwidth you're moving to. If you're switching from copper to fiber, that's a good bit of work. If you're moving up a lot in copper bandwidth, you may need dual pair, and possibly a new home run from the NID to your Gateway. However, these are all topics to discuss over on the AT&T boards, not the DIRECTV stream ones.
