Hisense TV brand not recognized by Direct TV stream remote

In need of some assistance. I just got directv service. I got the genie receiver in the living room and the gemini in the second bedroom. Anyway, the technician got the streaming remote connected to the receiver fine however for some reason it works perfectly except for the volume feature. The remote will not turn my tv up or down. The technician had no idea why. He even went and got another remote from the truck thinking the first one was a lemon or had a problem but the second proved to have the same issue. I finally gave up and said i would try to call direct tv and get it resolved.  I followed the instructions however when I get to the point of typing in my TV brand i get a response that says they do not recognize that brand. So i am now at a stand still. I'm on hold with directv tech support now but i thought i'd reach out to anyone on these forums who have had a similar issue. I also have a second issue that i discovered while dealing with this issue. The "talk into" feature does not seem to work at all. I hold down the microphone button and speak into the remote yet get nothing back. I can see the google assistant attempt to do something on the tv screen but eventually it just goes black and nothing. would love some help for either or both.
