Is the DirecTV streaming box and remote purchased or leased?

If I sign up for the streaming service, is the box and remote something I have to purchase, or are they leased from DirecTV with an added monthly charge?  I have gone through the signup process all the way to the payment info and nowhere does anything appear about the box and remote…. Is the box and remote included in the package (looking at the basic Entertainment package for $79/month)?  Or do I need to order that separately?
