Leaving Uverse - a few Stream questions

I'm getting rid of Uverse and am almost convinced to go to DT Stream.  It seems like the experience will be the most similar.  I have one smart TV with a Uverse DVR and two "dumb" ones in the bedrooms.  Do I need to buy new smart TVs or is there a way that the stream signal will make its way to those TVs?  More equipment??

Can someone talk about hidden charges, please...equipment charges, extenders, box fees on each TV, HD fees, anything else you can think of?

Can I leave both systems live until I decide?

Can I pause live TV?

Any problems using this with Internet Air?  We don't have fiber and it looks like they're going to "cut the copper" in the next 12-18 months.

Sorry for so many questions.  Thanks!

Hello, u/jackbonham. We appreciate you considering DIRECTV via Internet. Visit https://www.directv.com/support/article/000066174 to check the compatibility of your smart TV. You can Pause, rewind, and fast-forward live TV for up to 60 minutes, but it is only available on selected national channels and is not available for Regional Sports Networks or on all compatible devices, and it requires high-speed internet. I have a TCL smart...no problem.  What about the two Hisense not-smart TV's.  Do I need to replace them?

For non-smart tv, you can purchase our Gemini Air or any third-party streaming device that can connect to your Wi-Fi like the Roku or Firestick. Kiarha, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Hi,

I just made the jump from uVerse to DirectTV Stream.   Some the nice functionality of uVerse is not available with DTVS.  For the most part it hasn't been too bad, but the user experience is different.   It takes a bit to get use to certain things, like how the rewind works.   Recording sports is nice with the automatic extended time feature, but unfortunately that does not work with other programs.  For example, if you are recording a sports program in CBS, it will record the whole game, but if the game runs late, it will not extend '60 Minutes' and there is not option to extend the time as there was with uVerse.   Also not being able to remote in a channel number really sucks, since you are force to scroll through the Guide. You can live pause. Lastly, there seems to be a lag from time to time with a warning coming up saying 'the network has heavy traffic';  I hope they increase their bandwidth, since they are advertising a lot

This in not the end of the world, but there is a learning curve.   Good luck
