my remote won't recognize my Apex Digital TV

I'm trying to program my new Directv Stream remote to control my Apex Digital TV and it can't do it. Although, the previous remote (which is exactly the same) paired just fine. How can I get it to work?

Hello @timothybell4531, thanks for reaching out!

There are some options to manage your DIRECTV STREAM device, here you can find the steps of how to set it up

Please let us know how it goes!

I've tried all that multiple times. It just keeps saying it can't program the remote to the TV. And I don't understand why, when our old box and remote - which is identical to the new one we were given- paired with our TV just fine. I'm getting more and more frustrated with Directv Streaming and beginning to think I made a mistake in going with it.

Why can't you use the other remote that worked?

Hey @timothybell4531 let's work to find out what's causing this.

Let's meet in a Direct Message to take a closer look on this. Please check your DIRECTV Message Inbox (It's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums).

We'll take it from there.

Ludwick577 - that's basically what I've done. I reinstalled the old box and am using it. If it quits working, though, I guess I'm screwed.

@timothybell4531 have you tried a factory reset in your remote control? If not, try following these steps:

1. Press and hold the Home and Exit keys simultaneously, until the LEDs on both sides display red.
2. Press 981 on the remote control.
3. The LEDs will turn Off and then blink blue 3 times on both sides.

Let us know how it goes, we'll be a DM away if you have any extra question.
