My TV keeps freezing, makes a loud screeching sound, and then restarts only with the cable box
Hi, I have an LG TV that works completely fine woth everything else. Unfortunately, with my DirecTV Streaming box, after watching it for awhile, the TV will freeze and go to a random color, make a loud buzzing sound, and then turn off and restart, and will do this a few times before finally working again for awhile, before going through the same process. Is this a known issue at all?
Thank you very much!

Have you tried using a different HDMI port?

Jon - try resetting the CEC, that is in your TV’s setup menu. if that doesn’t change anything then try factory reset on your TV. Also be sure all updates have been applied. I see you mention it works ok with other devices like a DVD, right? So it should be working ok. Try another hdmi port as bcb mentioned.
this could be a compatibility issue with the device. I see DirecTV help put up a list. This is rare but it does happen.
If I think of anything else I’ll come back.
Good luck

There are some situations when we need to investigate further or use personal information that, for security purposes, should not be displayed in public. Could you please confirm if you are having the same issues with the freezing and buzzing sound? Our team is ready to help. Maria, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Nope. There is no privacy issues with a DirecTV device causing problems. This is you trying to hide the problem. That dog won’t hunt.

I have a similar problem. No issues for the first hour, then buzzing, and the tv shuts down, restarts.
