New Sony TV / Gemini Air issues

I have a new Sony A95L tv and am struggling with Gemini Air setup. The Gemini Air is in the HDMI4 slot (as directed during setup). I have two issues I need help with:

1) the DTV remote can control the TV only after turning the unit on with the Sony remote. Bravia sync is turned off to keep the Gemini from rebooting all the time. How can I have this set up so I only need the DTV remote for turning the TV on?

2) How do I enable 4k for the Gemini Air with this TV? The TV is set to “enhanced” and 4k for the HDMI4 input, but none of the apps show me 4k programming. In the summary description for each show, I only see “HD” listed. I thought the Gemini Air would allow 4k.
