No surround sound with Direct TV Streaming

Why isn't my surround sound not working with Direct TV Streaming? I had no problem with U-Verse. I have a Yamaha V-670 Receiver.

What streaming device are you using?

How is it connected to AV Receiver?

I have Direct TV Streaming box. It is my understanding that once I cancelled U-Verse and no longer had that box that my surround sound was disconnected. Also that purchasing a "ghost box" would solve the problem. All of my speakers are working fine. I have ordered the Prozor DAC converter. Hopefully when I install this I will have my surround system back.

On the DirecTV box go to "Settings/System/Audio/Audio Output" and make sure Surround is checked, not stereo.

I don't have a Direct TV Box. I have the oval air attachment on the back of the TV.

Did you verify that settings were set correctly as previously posted?

The installer with AT&T set everything up. He told me he did not know how to reinstate the surround sound. I called a technician who installs surround sound systems and explained the situation. He said once the U-Verse box was removed that was connected to my surround sound I would have to get a "ghost box". So, I have ordered a Prozor DAC Converter which I will be receiving today. Hopefully this will do the job.
