Order box through Roku

I signed up for streaming through Roku since it wouldn't let me sign up online. I don't see any options for ordering a box.

Is there any way to order a box/remote?

DETAILED STEPS

Manage DIRECTV STREAM devices

  1. Sign in and go to your Account Overview page.
  2. In the My streaming devices area, select Manage. From here, you can:
  • View a list of your devices. 
  • Disable auto sign-in by turning the selector Offnext to “Auto sign-in.” If you have more than one DIRECTV STREAM device, this can be taken for each applicable device.
  • View installment plan details, if applicable.
  • Add more streaming devices (up to 6).

You order the box when you sign up for the service at DirecTV Stream's website. Appears all you did was download the app to your Roku and subscribed. You can try to log in to your DirecTV Stream account and see if you can order the box.

I guess there's no way to do it if you signed up through Roku.

Maybe I can just buy the box online, not sure if it would work.

As I said, login to your DirecTV Stream account. You can purchase the box there.

You can do it on the Dtv stream website under you account. When I signed up for Dtv Stream in 2021--I ordered a box 3 days later. You can also do it on their twitter support or Directv stream website live chat. If you don't see it under your account---there is a live chat icon in the lower right hand corner on the account page you can use to order one.

Not trying to be difficult it's just really frustrating, been trying to sign up for like a month.

No credit card or email address ever works, always gives an error. Incognito tab, different computer, over phone with support, doesn't matter.

No option to buy box on my account page on directv or AT&T.

Sorry about the sign-up - not sure about the issue there. That's a DirecTV Stream issue. AT&T and DirecTV are 2 different companies. Their name is no longer an issue with the service.

I guess I am now confused. If you could not sign up with a CC, how did you go to website and look at your account under DirecTV Stream? You mentioned Roku and the app for Roku?

Are you a previous DirecTV or AT&T subscriber?

I am an AT&T fiber and wireless customer. I signed up for a streaming account through the DirecTV app on a Roku TV. So I'm able to login to DirecTV stream website but there's no option to order boxes.

I'd like to get the DirecTV box and remote.

Interesting! So you could not sign up with your CC on-line through the website but via the Roku it accepted your CC? Right?

I may be wrong, but I believe the only way you are able to purchase the box is if you go through the website and sign-up. Then you have the option to buy the boxes. If you do not see the option from your account, then they are not available for you. Of course, Roku is not going to offer the box of a competitor on their site. They want to sell their own hardware.

Try this:

You can order DirecTV Stream boxes via your DirecTV account or by calling them (number below). For official support call DirecTV Satellite 1-800-531-5000, DirecTV Stream 1-888-429-4023, or AT&T 1-800-288-2020.

Curious, did you get the free unlimited DVR? They indicate it's only available via on-line.

"Unlimited DVR:
Online only. New DIRECTV STREAM customers only. Offer not available to DIRECTV and U-verse customer switching to DIRECTV STREAM. Data connection req’d. Recordings expire after 9 months. In a series recording, max 30 episodes stored (oldest deleted first which may be in less than 9 months). Restrictions apply."

@jc6845 I gave you 3 ways to order a Dtv Stream box but you seem to ignore peoples' suggestions. If you can't find how to order them on the Dtv Stream website--you can either contact Dtv Stream phone number1-888-429-4023... Do the live chat via the icon on the lower right corner after you sign into your Dtv stream account---or contact them on twitter @DirectvHelp to order one.

@bcbsncjlj It looks like I do have the unlimited cloud DVR

Yeah I've called them, they can't order it for me, they don't have the option.

I'm not ignoring anything. There's an error on the backend systems that won't allow me to sign up, I was supposed to get a call back from a supervisor but never did. There are other people online having this same issue.

If I try to sign up it debits my card $30 then immediately credits it back.

I need some escalated support but it's difficult to get a hold of anyone who can help.

This is very confusing. You said you have already signed up through the Roku and that you have an account that you have signed in to. That purpose was to try to see if you could purchase the device through your account, but it was not available. I am totally lost at this point with your history.

Contact their twitter support @Directvhelp. They are always more hellpful (for me) than their phone number. https://twitter.com/directvhelp It takes around 5 minutes for them to respond and start a chat.

So the history is, I'm an AT&T fiber and wireless customer and for some reason I cannot sign up for DirecTV streaming (or at least the normal way where I can also order the box), I've tried many ways, and a supervisor told me it could be an error on their end. Been trying here and there for the past month.

I was able to sign up for streaming through the DirecTV app on a Roku TV, but now ordering the box is not available. Support said they didn't have the option for me to order it either, when they pull up my account. If I log in online, there is no option to "manage devices".

Will try twitter.
