Pin Protect Payment

There should be a way to lock or otherwise control purchases, but so far they haven’t added that.  Hopefully they will eventually (but really should have at the same time as they added the purchase feature).  They will (I think still) refund purchased content if it hasn’t been watched and the request is soon after the purchase. I don’t know if that also applies to subscriptions to premium channels. There is no way I know of to block adding apps. I don’t know if being signed into Google is required for voice control, but I would guess so.   As far as I know it isn’t necessary for any other controls.

Here are some steps to help you set Parental Control:
-Press the Overflow button […] on the remote.
-Arrow over to “Parental.”
-Select “Lock Now” and press OK.
-Press OK.
-Enter the passcode twice.

Currently, we do not have a feature to lock down third-party apps. I'm getting this information to our specialized department and consider it for future updates. DIRECTV appreciates your feedback.

@DIRECTVhelp - If you had read the page you linked to, you would have seen that purchase control applies only to satellite, not to Stream. This is the second time in the last few days I’ve seen a rep do the same thing. Do you guys realize satellite and Stream are not the same thing and don’t have the same features?

I have directv stream. The parental controls only seem to apply to movie and tv ratings but not to purchases.

Frankly i don't care if my 91 year old aunt watches x-rated movies but i do care if i have to pay for it. 

Thanks everyone for confirming my assumptions. Hopefully they'll add this functionality soon.
