The RC73 remote should work fine with your C71K DirecTV Stream box without any special programming. What functions do you want to program?

Yes the the old directv satelite RC73 remote is working, I was able to reset it to IR and I am able to control my Device C71KW with old remote. I just switched to streaming and needed a 2nd remote. I called Directv Stream and they said I could only program one RC82V Remote to one RC73 device due to Bluetooth, but that I could use a universal IR remote. Does any one have a hack to program 2 RC82V remotes to one Device? Also the old RC73 remote doesn't adjust my Denon Receiver volume. If I program old remote to adjust audio will my new RC82V Remote lose the audio adjust? Thanks

We are glad to know you were able to program the universal remote with your DIRECTV STREAM device, we would like to share with you that our remote controls are guaranteed to program to your DIRECTV receiver, and they operate most devices; however your TV or other components, like the Devon Receiver, may not be compatible with our remote control.

Regarding your other questions about the audio adjustment, please keep in mind each remote will have the ability to control audio, one will control the device volume and the other one will control the Devon Device volume.

On my DTV stream device C71KW with a RC82V remote, right now I can control denon receiver volume, and watch Directv programming. Can I purchase online a used or new  RC82V remote add it to my device and have 2 remotes work on one device or has it to be a universal IR remote.

Thanks Mateo. I have 2 RC73 remotes one is paired to a genie box that I no longer have since switching to directv stream. That remote still controls my Denon receiver volume but not my stream box. The 2nd remote has been reset to factory default using program code 981. It now controls my stream box but not my denon volume. I have tried a few times programming with code 961 to set to IR and tried to program denon but will not work. Is there any way to program the remote to IR that still works with denon volume and is still set to old genie box. If I try reset 981 it will lose denon volume adjust. I need to set remote it to IR but looks like I can't do it without reseting it to factory default or with a genie box. Any suggestions on how to get stream and denon to work on Rc73 remote?

Our recommendation is to keep using each RC73 Genie remote control for each device, the one for DIRECTV STREAM box, and one for the Denon receiver that still control it, since this will avoid losing the configuration and functions with your equipments. Is there a universal remote that will control my stream box, tv and denon receiver? 

Harmony has really good remotes. What's wrong with the Dtv Stream box remote? I use 2 Stream box RC82V remotes with my box if that's what you are trying to do. All you have to do is go into settings--system---remote/devices and "add a new directv remote" I have 2 listed. You can get a RC82V remote on amazon for like 16 bucks.

Ludwick577 posted a link earlier for stream box remote on amazon, I read the reviews and people were able to program this amazon remote as a second remote to C71KW stream box saying it works with both original RC82V remote and identical NBS brand on amazon both paired with one C71kw stream box. Has anyone else bought this NBS brand remote and able to pair both to one stream box. This is exactly what I need, let me know if anyone has has tried it.

On the amazon reviews people said that directv told them that this knock-off remote would not work as a second remote on Directv C71kw box.

Yah, I'm Ludwick. I posted that link to amazon for the RC82V remote.  I bought another remote RC82V (NBS)  from Amazon and it works fine. I have 2 of them setup on mt Dtv Stream box. It is the same remote that comes with the Dtv Stream box.

@Jsarda, have you tried to use your RC82V Remote control and pair it with your TV, DIRECTV STREAM box and Denon Receiver? We recommend you to try some basic steps to pair your DIRECTV STREAM remote and device. Keep in mind your TV or other components may not be compatible with our remote control.
