Replacement Stream Boxes signed into another account
I bought 3 DTV stream boxes used upon receiving them I was unable to get them to updated I was getting the 80003-001 error code. I contacted DTV chat and they sent out 3 new boxes and I am to return the old ones that didn't work. 1 of the 3 that I was sent as a replacement is working as normal but the other 2 seem to be signed into other accounts and I am able to sign in. I have talked to chat about this issue but I kept getting told that these devices are not linked to my account which is the problem I having. I then was transferred to another agent who said she sent my ticket to an internal team for more assistance but I have not heard back. I had also confirmed with the agent that I am allowed to use preowned streaming devices so can these devices be signed out of so I can sign in with my username and password? Or can I send these back for 2 that are working?

Have you tried going to the dtv stream website---hit the gear icon---then go to account details----then manage my streaming devices? Are yours in there listed with serial numbers? If so u can try to turn off auto sign in then do a factory reset.

Have you tried a factory reset?
Just press and hold the red reset button until you see the Factory Reset screen.

Hey Ludwick ! Yeah I have tried that as well. I didn't purchase the stream boxes through Direct TV so they are not registered to my account. But the lady in chat had told me that shouldn't be a problem. It seems like the devices they sent me were not logged out of from the previous users. One box turns on and says there is no active subscription and the other box signs in automatically but I can see in the settings its for an account with the "Choice" package and I currently have the "Ultimate". When I choose "sign out" it just signs right back into whatever account it on the device.

Hey JefferMC, Yeah I have tried holding the red reset button as well. It resets the device but auto signs into an account again that is not mine .

I thought you said that you contacted Directv chat and they sent you out replacement boxes?? If the boxes are coming from Dtv then those should be registered to your account.

I did contact DTV chat. I ordered c71kw-200 boxes on ebay. When they were delivered they didn't not update. I contacted DTV chat and sent them the serial numbers of the devices. They sent me out 3 new replacement boxes c71kw-400 to replace the 3 I bought used. These are not tied to my account because they were not purchased through my DTV account. Packages were sent to my address but all 3 had different names on them? Guessing the boxes are tied to their accounts yet. Could be a mix up on DTV end for even sending me new boxes but I have the chat transcript to prove it still. Thanks!

When you contacted them initially did you tell them you bought them used? Did they even attempt to tie your account to the serial numbers on those used boxes? You should just start fresh and send back those boxes they sent you and purchase new ones off their website. There have been tons of posts from people buying ebay boxes having this same issue and the problem never gets resolved.

No I did not at the time I probably should have but he really did not ask many questions I explained my issue I told him I attempted the 10 second reset and press the reset button 7 or 8 times as the logo appears to download the update but it had not been working and then he just asked for my address and then stated he would be shipping out 3 new boxes to my address and I was to ship the boxes I had back once I received the new ones.
