I don’t think that feature works with the DIRECTV stream app unfortunately.

The Samsung DirecTV Stream App is junk. You'll have a much better experience with a $30 Roku or FireStick.

If you want a voice remote to work with Dtv Stream--get the Directv Stream box. Its remote has a voice/search button.
