Streaming Box in 2 locations

Does anyone use the DirecTV Streaming box in 2 different locations?....and do you get local channels for 2 different locations?  Main house with streaming box in one state, getting those locals.  Want to have 2nd box at vacation house in another state, will set location to that state, can you get locals channels for the 2nd state on the 2nd box and still get the locals on the 1st in the original state?

No, that is not possible. You can only set ONE home location at a time. If you were to try to do this, local channels will only display for the home location. However, phones and tablets with the DIRECTV STREAM app do allow you to watch two different local channel markets at two different locations.

I do this all of the time when traveling in our RV. But not with a DirecTV Stream box. Some devices, like iPad/iPhone, with "location services" will recognize my physical location and deliver those local stations. But the DirecTV Stream box and my Rokus only provide my home location local stations.

Was told by DirecTV tech support that I could change the location settings on my 2nd streaming box (the one that costs $120, not the Roku app) to reflect my 2nd location and that box would get the locals for that 2nd location.

Hello @jwmccnn9. We know how important it's to enjoy your favorite programming out of home.

Thanks to @detuch254 for the accurate and prompt response.

Local channels available to view are based on location and are determined by the Location Service on the device. If their location can't be determined, then it will fail back to your Billing ZIP code.

In case you have any other question or concern, we'll be happy to help you.

You were told wrong.

Original poster here, while it is only possible to set one home location at a time it IS absolutely possible to get different local channels using 2 Stream boxes.  I am currently doing this in my two locations.  One box is set as the home location, gets local channels for that location and another Stream box is set on the IP Address at the second location, not a "Home Location" but as one of the 3 away locations that you can have, and is currently getting the local channels for that 2nd location.  In fact, any device / app that has location settings will get the local channels for that location.  Also, recently traveled on the West Coast and got local channels in every different city I was in via the app on my mobile device.

For those that own two houses, are you saying that you can set a second location for the stream device and it just counts as an out-of-home stream when watching (one of 2 or 3 available)?

Yes, that is basically what I am saying.  Devices like phones that have built in location settings do this automatically and the original question I had was about the Stream device.  Was told this was possible by Phone Support but most responders on here had the wrong answer.  It is very much possible to get locals in 2 different locations using the stream box if you set location settings of the box.  If no location settings are used, the channel lineup defaults to the billing address on the account.
