Trouble with remote
When I press a channel or Guide button on the remote the blue lites flash and nothing happens. I have to do this multiple times until ALL the button lights flash, then the remote responds to button pushes for a while. I must repeat this at least every 3rd time I try to change channels or use the guide.

I reread the manual for the 3rd time and (finally) noticed that the remote was "paired" by pressing the "-" key. Duh! So I Googled the process and found the instructions that Mateo pointed me to. PROBLEM SOLVED! I wanted to see if it worked properly today before calling it done. Thanks for all the help. Good to know there's help available.

What streaming device?
Have you tried new remote batteries?
Have you tried resetting the streaming device?

It is the C71KW-400 streaming device, no brand on the remote, batteries changed, device reset, NO change! Thanks for trying.

That sounds like the Dtv Stream box remote. Try restarting the box. U can also repair the remote in settings. Those flashing lights might also mean you need to change your batteries.

I did notice that the 2 blue lights on the remote flash quickly one or two times (actually up to 4 or 5 on occasion) at each button press, then a slow double flash (both lights, twice, together) followed by all the other buttons flash once, white, together, then streaming device responds (for a while!).

I think you need to repair the remote to the box. It's under settings.
