tv doesn't start with remote

Prior to some remodeling everything on one tv worked fine. We have moved it to a different room and now the tv no longer comes on with the remote. The streaming box comes on but we have to manually start the tv. Other than just moving it no other changes took place.

Try repairing the remote via the settings. Make sure TV is set to the right model.

Ok, I thought I could figure that one out but I guess not. How do I unpair my remote?

@scottymoore512! We're happy to assist you.

These are the steps to unpair your DIRECTV stream remote:

1. Press and hold DASH (–) and APPS or Diamond buttons until you see the LED lights on the remote blink blue twice.

2. Restart your DIRECTV STREAM device by pressing and releasing the red button on the side of the device. You can also unplug your device and then plug it back in.

No success. It still wont shut off the tv or turn it back on.

Did you go into your program remote settings---all the way at the bottom----"power off devices" needs to be turned on.

Is your tv chosen in the remote settings? What kind of tv do u have?

Yes it is chosen and it's a Vizio. It's important to note this has all worked perfectly until it was shut off for a few weeks during the remodel and then located into a different room.

Hmm odd. Maybe the batteries need changed? lol don't know what else to tell you. Have you red button resetting the box? Do you have more than 1 box and remote?

And that is the only box and remote u have. U might need a new remote. If u bought the box from Dtv they will replace it. U an also get the remote on amazon for cheap.
