PPV

When I try to order PPV it does not give me the option to order.  It shows that my internet is connected.

What is the receiver model? Do you have this issue on other receivers? To confirm, does it successfully say internet CONNECTED when you go to Menu, Settings, Internet Setup, and Run Internet Setup?

Also, has this issue always occurred? Do only some PPVs have this issue? If so, name them.

I just had it installed last week.  When I go to internet set up I get the message to set up internet access for all clients go to your genie receiver and select menu/settings/internet set up  Follow on screen instructions.  The genie just says Genie HD DVR.  All 3 of my receivers and they all show offline

What are the receiver models specifically? This can be found on the bottom of the receiver. The genie HD DVR model number will start with HR or HS17 and the client model number will start with C. The technician should have connected your Genie to the internet unless you didn’t want to do so. Connections are through Ethernet or a wireless WiFi connection.

Also, what PPV movie and/or channel is it? I recall PPV can be ordered online or over the phone without a direct internet connection of receivers.

The Genie is HR54/500.  He just said that I need to go in and connect to my network.  He did not connect it.  Client is Directv C61-100

Hello @TeresaReagan, we want you to enjoy your service at its fullest.

In order to order PPV content, only the main Genie needs to be connected to the internet. Please give these steps a try, and let us know the results. We're here to help.

If your HR54 is within reach of your home network router then an Ethernet cable connection is the best way to connect it to the internet. Otherwise you can use its built-in WiFi to connect to your home WiFi network. Just follow the steps under the Network Setup Menu.

If you don’t have a direct Ethernet connection to the HR54, follow these steps to connect it wirelessly over WiFi. If you have satellite internet (data caps) then connecting to the internet could be an issue.

  1. Press MENU on your remote.
  2. Select Settings > Internet SetupConnect Now. If you're reconnecting to the internet, select Reconnect Now.
  3. After the system checks the connection status, select Set Up Wireless.
  4. Select your wireless network.
  5. Enter your wireless network password and select Continue

IF YOU HAVE ETHERNET AND PLUGGED IT INTO THE HR54, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  1. Connect the ethernet cable to the back of the Genie and connect to the router or gateway connected to your home internet service.
  2. Press MENU on your remote.
  3. Select Settings Internet Setup > Connect Now. If you're reconnecting to the internet, select Test Connection.
  4. After the system checks connection status, select Done.
