771 Satellite signal issue
Constantly getting 771 Satellite signal issue. This is getting worse. Happens every couple of minutes and TV freezes. This happens on all TV's in house. This is not a weather issue. This has been going on for months. Tried resetting box with red button etc. Trouble shooting over the phone is useless. I can't get DirectTV to send repairman because my name is not on account. I live in the house where account is set up. I am at my wit's end with this issue. I will pay out of pocket to get this repaired. Someone please help!!

First --Suggest you check your outside (rg6) cable ends for damage

I'm guessing I would need a ladder since dish is on roof for me to check cable ends? I probably would not be able to do that.

Please try to follow this basic troubleshooting in order to correct it:
1. Make sure your TV is turned on.
2. Press the Power button on the front panel of your receiver. If your receiver doesn’t turn on, continue to the next step.
3. Unplug the ends of the power cord from the back of your receiver and the electrical outlet. Then, securely plug it back in at both ends.
If a light switch controls the electrical outlet, make sure it’s flipped on.
If your receiver connects to a power strip, be sure it’s turned on.
Press the Power button on the front panel of your receiver.

Look outside where the Wires come into the house first --if not possible -then a search of your ZIPCODE for audio or video places that may offer SAT repair since you are unable to schedule a Service visit 1-800-531-5000

99% of the 771 errors are dish alignment related, there are videos on youtube if you want to try it yourself otherwise you have to call DTV 1 800 531 5000 to setup a tech visit. The techs are no longer allowed to leave the ladder so if it can't be reached they should install a new dish where it can be serviced.

Please post your signal readings from each satellite. That may give us some clues about what's wrong.
