Approved COAX cabling

Do you know if standard RG6 coax is acceptable and/or does it need to have the isolated ground with it?

The purists will tell you you should use solid copper core (SCC) RG6 but there is no difference between SCC and CCS (copper clad steel ) RG6 as far as carrying signal is concerned.  So assuming you are using an SWM system, then regular RG6 is fine, except maybe on the run from the power inserter to the dish. There it's recommended you use SCC RG6 with solid copper core (not CCS copper clad steel) because it's carrying power and SCC has less power losses.

That said, unless you have a really long run to the dish (50ft or more) SCC will work fine.

If you have an older system not using SWM it's more complicated, if so post back.

AS far as grounding is concerned, you don't need it to be with the RG6. You need a ground from the dish to the grounding block, but it can be a separate grounding wire if you want.
