Channel stuck - no remote - channel button broken

Currently have an older Hisense TV, 2004 Evolution. It is connected to DIRECTV and the remote is lost. Actively trying to get a universal remote to connect but haven't had any luck and the Channel buttons on the bottom do not work. All other buttons work. Some of the codes on the universal remote will only adjust the volume and power/input buttons. Is there another way I can access channels/guide without a remote currently?

Hello @thekatalyst3128, we want to make accessing your guide and favorite channels as easy as possible. We have an amazing option in our DIRECTV app that allows you control the DIRECTV receiver without a universal remote. Simply click the remote-control icon on the top right of the main app screen to open a virtual remote for your connected DIRECTV receiver. All basic remote functions are available, and you can select which receiver you are controlling at the top. Additionally, we will reach out to you via Private Note to provide further support regarding your request for a new remote. Gloria, DIRECTV Community Specialist

What brand/model "universal remote"?  If it supports DirecTV boxes, then it should work. You can also buy replacement remotes on Amazon.

It is a GE Universal Remote GE Ultrapro 4Dev RMT. "For ALL MAJOR BRANDS" and preprogrammed for samsung tvs. Doesn't exclusively say DirecTV supportive. Might have to go the Amazon route

IIRC DTV receivers up to the HR44 have front panel buttons to change channels and access the guide.

The box that is connected appears to only have a power on and off, plus the 4 port connection on the back, to which it does turn on and off but no other feature available. The Box number is DMS2004UHD -- S#: EVLA31D03709

That tells us nothing need the model number.  The HR24 and above have touch panel button that can be hard to see.
