Direct tv remote will not turn on/off my sound bar. Will adjust volume
I can use my direct tv remote to adjust the volume of my insignia sound bar but it will not turn off or on the sound bar.

To better understand why your DIRECTV remote control will not power OFF/ON your sound bar. Please answer the following questions.
If your answer to question 1 is "YES", I strongly recommend you change the batteries in your DIRECTV remote control.

The RC7X remotes don't have the codes to turn on/off any soundbars/A/V receivers, HDMI CEC will turn it on/off.

I just purchased the sound bar and it has never turned off/on using the direct tv remote.

You can sync your sound bar with your DIRECTV remote by following these simple steps:
On the On-screen menu, select:
1. Parental Favs & Setups.
2. System Setup.
3. Remote or (Remote Control and then program remote).
4. Then select the device you want the remote to control.

Do you have to use an HDMI ARC cable to have the DTV remote control the power on/off for a insignia sound bar? Reason, mine will not do it by doing the above solution from DTVhelp.
