Does the fix for HR23 work for HR24?
There was a fix in the forum for stopping the DVR from going into screen saver mode after a couple of hours for the HR 23. Mine is an HR 24 and does the same thing. Can I use the same fix? It was to force a software update. Rest, then enter quickly 0 2 4 6 8. It says it would search for a software update.

There is no way to disable the screensaver mode, you can only turn on/off the power saving mode that returns the receiver to standby mode after 4 hours of non use of the remote.

That isn't a fix for anything. At best all it does is just reload the same software you have. And it's a very dangerous "fix" because you might get a beta test copy of the software which can have all sorts of things wrong with it.
As shannon says, you can't disable the screensaver mode.
