error 392 on gemini

ok, tv working fine this am, went out, came home, and video from Gemini stuttering (connected to Genie 2)

rebooted gemini, stuttering home, but internet speed test gives me error 392.

Now I found where this is an internet connection problem.

But Netflix works, so I figure it is (Edited per community guidelines), perhaps the DTV speed test uses it's own server. Reading other posts confirms my theory.

Clearly the Genie 2 is connected to the internet, it got Netflix. The Wi-Fi between the Genie 2 and the Gemini is working also, because I got netflix.

The stuttering stopping after Gemini reboot says the Gemini was having some issue, and it was not the connection.

Also how can the Gemini worry about an Internet connection, since shannon constantly tells me the Internet connection comes from the Genie 2.

Just flakey software... I'm not rebooting the Genie 2 until I wait a while and see if it fixes itself, then that proves the speed test is DTV's site.

The info from the Gemini says that it is connected to my 2.4 GHz wifi, excellent signal.

Will check later, I'm going to install an Android app to show that the internet is connected.

Just disappointed in the system, see that there was a relatively recent update on the 16th.

It is nuts that DTV's issues with it's software appears to stop you from checking your internet settings.

Last I heard you where using your home  WiFi to connect the Gemini to the internet bypassing the HS17 Genie2

i  gave the current configuration, not bypassing, the DTV components switched their Wi-Fi connections

Rebooted Gemini twice, since after reboot, hitting home key did not take me to menu. After reboot now I can get to main menu, but still cannot get speed test. Now trying Reconfigure connection, which is ridiculous, since the Gemini does not need an Internet connection (according to shannon). Reconfigure network resulted in "wireless network not found".... but it works fine (several computers and phones connected) AND the Genie 2 says connected AND the system gets Netflix. Back to error code 392....  will restart Genie 2 later, but junk software!

Question, safest way to reboot Genie 2 without risking recordings? I know enough not to do it while recording. Just cycle power, or unplug?

I solved the issue. I filtered a url out with my firewall. I'll isolate what url is used for this particular test and document it.
