Gemini Receivers Showing Not Connected to my WFI — result code 392
I have a HS-17 DVR with 4 Gemini receivers with each saying that the Wi-Fi is not connected to my WIFi. I tried practically everything. Rebooting my router, resetting my Directv equipment …. All trouble shooting instructions, etc., to no avail. I still can stream all of the apps with no problem. All of my other wireless devices are connected and working fine. IPhones, iPads, Ring doorbell.

I’m not sure if this will be any help or not but I just had a technician come out last week because of this issue and a Gemini box that didn’t want to connect either. After troubleshooting for almost 2.5 hours and switching out to a brand new Genie 2 and Gemini box it still wasn’t connecting. He then checked my main “junction” box in my garage where the cable comes in from the dish directly and noticed I had RG59 cables running throughout the house instead of 6, and to the outlet my genie had been connected since it got it, and said that could be the issue. I said it’s been working fine for years until recently and he couldn’t believe it ever worked, period. But he took my genie 2 into the garage and hooked it up out there where that main cable comes in and then as soon as he plugged in the Ethernet cable it connected almost instantly. And it’s been fine since. I don’t understand why it worked as long as it did and then just one day stopped… but at least it’s working. Just thought I’d throw that out there in case any of that is helpful.

Thank you for the info. How would I know if my cable is RG59?

It is printed on the coax but it is unlikely if DTV installed it as they have never used RG59, unknown why he has it.

The cable from the dish to my house is R6. But all of the cables running in the guts of my house are apparently RG59, according to my recent tech. When it was installed initially they just connected the DIRECTV cable into a splitter that ran to the rest of my house. So whomever installed my genie originally apparently didn’t notice or didn’t care but it was a DIRECTV technician that installed my genie initially. But I can confirm the line this tech last week installed does have R6 printed on the cable. I dont see any printing on the other cables that are running into my house but this tech seemed to know by looking. The R6 appears a little thicker and more heavy duty. But hard to tell if you aren’t looking for it I would presume.
And again… not saying that is THE issue every time but he tinkered for 2 hours before realizing that cable issue and tried about everything else to get it connected to the internet and couldn’t get it to work. So I just wanted to offer that as a potential issue from my experience that even he didn’t think about right away. In case that helps anyone else.

My Gemini’s are wireless. My HS!7 is connected to the internet since I can see the connection on my network. The streaming stuff works fine.
Very frustrating.

Remember that there can be 2 connections to your wireless system..
Only one will be used from the Genie 2 to the client (Gemini or Genie Mini)... and that will be a 5GHz wifi, normally on channel 126 or so.
You can connect the wireless in the client to your "normal" network ALSO.

Thank you Gregg. The Gemini’s won’t connect to my normal network.

My Gemini does, but I got the 392 error when I had a firewall that blocked certain Internet sites (advertising)
Try turning your router firewall off and see if the 392 error goes away.
email me if you need some info, I have details on my web site, but the moderators delete my web site address whenever I post it.
Right now my Gemini has 3 ip addresses,
169.254.128.95 (DTV wireless bridge network on 5GHz wifi)
192.168.10.23 (connected to my local network by wifi_
fe80:b22a:eb7:8a55:4774 (ipv6 on my wifi)
so it is connected to my local lan (what traffic is not clear, but it does something)

I finally found the solution. I replaced my Spectrum router with a TP-Link AX3000 router and everything connects and stays connected.

it's possible your previous router was blocking the "speed test" site that DTV uses... as above while blocking the "paused system ads", I also blocked that particular site, and got the 392 error, it accesses this site for determining the quality of the internet connection.
Your router probably has a parential controls section, that can display the sites that are accessed from your home... looking at them, you will see the ones that your Genie 2 (or whatever server you are using) is accessing... here are some example sites:
