RC73 remote buttons not working on LG TV
I just replaced my Samsung TV with an LG OLED C1 series set. All the buttons on my Genie RC73 remote work with Samsung, but the Off, VOL and Mute buttons do NOT work with LG. Does anybody know whether the DirecTV universal remote would work better? I currently have a Genie Gen 2, Model HR44-200 receiver. Thx.

I managed to get my Genie working by resetting the remote to factory default and going through the pairing steps again. I appreciate the guidance provided above as I had originally thought the pairing was partially successful as some of the functions seemed to work, but evidently that was not the case.

Did you reprogram the remote to the new TV?

First, I'd note that even before I reprogrammed it, most of the buttons on the remote started working after I finished setting up the LG TV. I then tried to reprogram the remote from the DirecTV menu, where I selected LG as the device I wanted to pair (it was the only option as it's the only device connected.) When it finished, DirecTV didn't tell me whether it had succeeded or failed, but the buttons previously noted still didn't work. Most buttons such as Guide, Menu, List, Info, etc. do work.

The DTV remote only turns the TV on/off and controls the volume/mute. The remote is already programed to control the Genie.

This is in response to Angela. I currently have two TVs set up, an LG directly connected to my Genie Gen 2, Model HR44-200 receiver, and a Samsung connected to my Wireless Genie Mini, Model C41W-100. I have two Genie remotes (RC73), both in RF mode. When I choose the "Pair/Program Remote" option for the Genie I'm using w/LG, I'm presented with two choices, "Program TV" and "Done." When I select "Program TV," I see the message "Adding LG Television. Attempting code 1 of 1." Eventually the message goes away and I'm left with the same two options, either "Program TV" or "Done." As far as I can tell, it failed and ON/OFF, Mute and VOL buttons don't work. It's completely different for my Samsung TV, where I have the option to change the TV, and when I select Samsung, I get prompted to increase the VOL to confirm that the pairing worked. So... If you have any suggestions on how to get the Genie remote to work with my LG set, please let me know. If not, I want to know whether I should purchase a DirecTV universal remote. Is there a reason to believe that the universal would work where the Genie doesn't?

Hi @leemeng, thanks for replying back with all this information.
By checking the model of the Genie remote RC73 and its compatibility in RF mode, our suggestion is to get a Universal Remote so it can be paired with the TV in its whole. Please follow the instructions attached, and let us know if any additional question pops up.

The RC6X will not control the mini in RF.
