In order to get the volume to work, you will need to program the remote to work with the TV Power, input, and volume. Also, if you are using the receiver remote on a different TV, you will have to program it. Follow along with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJEwL5w88Bs
I know that the interface of that video is old so if you need help navigating to the remote settings please come to the Forum and tell me and TexasBrit. In the video, the guy uses an LG TV and programs it for that. Obviously, you are going to choose the type of TV you have.
