removing dish from roof

I'm about to have a new roof installed and my dish is attached to the roof.  My contractor asked that the dish be taken down.  Can I get a service call to have that done and perhaps re-locate the dish to a different location on the side of my house?

they wont remove the dish but will come out and reinstall it OSHA regulations no longer allow directv/dishnetwork to get on roofs, your contractor should remove it for you

Ok. Got a different answer from DirecTv this morning so we’ll have to see. My contractor will not take on the liability of damages to the equipment if he removes it. Maybe I’ll just have to do it myself.

You own the dish so all DTV will do is install a new dish wherever you want provided that the place is an approved place to mount it.

Thanks for both of the answers I have received. It doesn’t really surprise me, based on past experiences, that I would receive multiple, different answers to the same question. A new dish would be great! The current one is well over 20 years old.

Since directv is shutting down standard Def soon your 20 year old dish will cease to work soon so it’s a win win for you. When you call ask for the hd swap not an upgrade and you will get a hi def box free of charge. Just make sure they don’t do an upgrade that will come with a new 2 year contract
