I suggest taking your receiver to any UPS store along with your D*TV Account Number and they will pack and ship it at no charge to you --Keep your tacking number as proof of return
You can take it to a Main UPS or Fed Ex print and ship location with account number. Make sure to take pictures of each box's serial number and the tracking number as if they lose it, they will try to charge you. It has to be a main location and not something in a walmart or cvs (basically anything franchised).
If that doesnt work or the employees dont know what they are doing, you need to call customer service for a return kit. Make sure its not a PO box as return kits can not be shipped.
IF they tell you NOT to return anything, keep the box and wait for the letter stating not to return it. I have seen time and time again that customers are told not to return something and then get a letter stating to return and get hit with a NRF ( non return fee). Good luck.

You have to call DTV 1-800-531-5000 to get a return kit, DTV never sends just a label.

Since AT&T Sold off 30% of DTV the posts here seem to indicate they have gone back to return kits, but it sure doesn't hurt to try.
