Software update issue

I turned my television this morning and it immediately started with a software update.  The screen is saying about 10 minutes.  That was 50 minutes ago, and it's still showing "software update" in progress.  The screen is not frozen.  I don't think this is normal.  I'm afraid that if I try resetting my Genie 2, it might cause a glitch.  Any advice on how to procede?

I unplugged my Genie 2 and let the system reboot.  I was concerned about doing this during the software update, but AI said that this would not damage anything, so I rebooted the system.  Looks like this resolved the problem.
