Troubleshoot your DIRECTV device

Running into trouble with your DIRECTV device? Here are four quick ways to get things back on track .

Start with the basics: check power, try the device power button, unplug/replug, and test your outlet. If your picture or sound is acting up, a simple restart — tapping the reset button or unplugging for 15 seconds — can help. Missing channels? Head to My equipment & services and choose Refresh device to reauthorize.

And for bigger issues, a factory reset can restore your signal — just remember it clears your preferences.
