HBO Max via AT&T

I have HBO Max free as part of my AT&T plan. Why isn’t it added to my HBO Max lineup in DIRECTV stream?

I don’t even have the HBO channels. So am I supposed to have that via my DIRECTV stream app? That is the question. I can access the HBO Max app with no issues but I do not have HBO in my DIRECTV Stream lineup.

Hi @EMD, we're here to help.

Just to confirm, you HBO Max subscription is through your AT&T Wireless account, is that correct?

You have to sub to HBO max thru Dtv stream to get the HBO channels on your Directv Stream guide.

That isn't true - or at least didn't used to be.  But I believe I did read that newer HBO Max subscriptions via AT&T promos would only get HBO Max (via app) rather than (also) getting the HBO live streams.  That would seem to make sense, given the disconnect between AT&T and the former AT&T video services (and soon, the disconnect between AT&T and WarnerMedia).  However, I haven't been able find that statement, so I may be misremembering it.

I believe it still applies. This is the verbiage on the HBO Max page from the ATT website.   "Access HBO Max only through HBO Max app or hbomax.com with your AT&T log-in credentials. HBO Max also includes HBO channels and HBO On Demand on eligible DIRECTV video platforms. "

I finally reached someone on the phone, this time I think at Directv support that new what I was talking about and has submitted a support request to get this taken care of.

I have a similar question. I think I'm double paying (subscribe to HBO on DirecTV, so paying per-month, but my AT&T cell phone plan includes HBO Max).

So I'd like to unsubscribe to HBO on my DirecTV plan, but hopefully restore it back (at least the basic HMO channels) via the HBO Max subscription that I get through my AT&T Wireless Cell plan.

1) Is this possible? Sounds like yes from the above, and
2) I cancel the HBO on my DirecTV subscription, what do I need to do to get the HBO channels back, through my AT&T Wireless HBOMax plan?
