App for Apple Mini 4 does not work consistently
Have been fighting inconsistent DirectTV Stream app problem on two of our Apple IPad Mini4's.
We are happy with the DirectTV Stream...use it on our living room TV, on two iPhone 8's and an old original IPad Mini (which keeps on running despite Apple not supporting updates on this device software). These all seem to work well with the DirectTV Stream App for Apple devices. We also have two Apple iPad Mini4's, which we use daily. The app won't work on these devices consistently....sometimes for weeks..... then it will start and then for reason stop....for weeks. The iPad always loads the App with favorites/recent channels watched on other devices, etc. at the bottom of the screen but the live video stream will not load and eventually times-out.... telling the me "to try again later". "Later" produces the same notice. Other dedicated apps for CNN, MSNBC and Fox news all seem to work with their individual apps but will not work when played through the DirectTV Stream app. I have talked to customer support at both DirectTV Stream and Apple. Have numerous times deleted the the app and reloaded.....have even deleted all the software on both the Mini's (a big job) and rebuilt/reloaded. Apple thinks it is an App bug....DirectTV Stream does not know what is happening. After hours on the phone with DirectTV, have tried to get the customer service to escalate the the problem but no one calls back!
Anybody else having this problem with Apple iPad Mini4???

Are you sure you have installed the new all in one 'DIRECTV' application that combines both satellite and DIRECTV STREAM services in a single app? If not, perhaps you are using an outdated version of the older DIRECTV STREAM application that has bugs. If you have the new app, please try reinstalling it and logging in with your credentials again, verifying that your iPad Mini 4s are updated to the latest software, and restarting the iPads.

Tnx 4 response to my post/problem. I am using Stream Supreme (which I think is the latest in the Apple App Store) and the iPad is running 15.5 which is the latest release.
Have deleted the app and power cycled the iPad and reloaded as u suggested……still no program stream….times out.
Any other suggestions? Are u using DirectTV stream on an iPad Mini 4?

Can you please confirm if this is happening on all channels and shows. Also, do you have a strong internet signal that may support the app?

I don't know what "Stream Supreme" is, but I don't think that's the correct App. The correct app in the App Store is simply called "DirecTV".

there appears to be 5 apps in the Apple store for DIRECTV. Two look like they are for satellite users when they are away from their satellite dish installation, one is for business, one is an app for control of the DriectTv box, the final one is called Stream Supreme…billed as “directtv streaming in one amazing app.” This is the one I am using on all the Apple devices (two iPhone 8, an original iPad min)..and it seems to work fine for all these devices. Two iPad mini4s are the problem that I outlined in my original post. Appreciate any further suggestions from u or others.

OK. "Stream Supreme" is simply the DirecTV App. When I search on my iPad I see only:
DirecTV -- This is the App you want for your DirecTV Stream service. I guess their marketing tagline is "Stream Supreme".
DirecTV on the Go for iPad -- This is for DirecTV Satellite folks to take DVR recordings with them.
DirecTV on the Go -- Same as above except for iPhones

To answer your question…I have just tried the app with my iPad Mini4 on all the local channels (nbc, abc, cbs, fox) same result….the app will not start the stream and eventually times out.
I have used this Mini4 at my home where all other Apple devices (two iPhone 8s and an original iPad mini) all these devices seem to operate fine with the app. I have also taken the two iPad mini4s to my office Wi-Fi which is ATT fiber and they exhibit the same error I am seeing at my residence (won’t connect to the requested video stream).
is anybody else seeing thi problem on an iPad mini model 4.
Tnx for any assist you can provide.

@donturrell it’s all good. As a side note, if you have DIRECTV STREAM, be sure to tell the agent that you are calling about the product ‘DIRECTV STREAM’ as saying just plain-old DIRECTV gets you sent to the satellite side.
