C71KW-200 powes off

Since moving to Direct TV Stream from ATT, my C71KW-200 powers down shortly after power on. I have done a hard reset and reload but that has not solved the issue.

Sounds like a defective box.

I would contact Directv customer service they might be able to help you out!  If they won't replace it for you then your best bet would be to buy a refurbished box through them for $49.99.  Or if you want a new one it would be $120.00 or they can break it down so that you pay for the new box for $5.00 a month for 2 years. Hope this helps you!

What do you mean since moving from ATT to Directv Stream? Your box is a Directv Stream device. Are you saying you used it with a previous service??

Ludwick,

Yes. This was a ATT TV Now box. You will remember ATT TV Now was the predecessor to Direct TV Streaming. When the move from ATT to Direct was first rolled out, the box worked. However, at some subsequent update, the box no longer works properly.

I can doa hard reset and the firmware is then downloaded. The TV will run and I can go to various Direct TV Stream channels. However, after several minutes. the box powers off.

It will not power on unless I remove the power plug for 10 seconds or so.

However, even though it will then power on, I cannot get to the Channel Menu nor receive any channels . I would then need to another hard reset and reload firmware again.

Has to be defective. You can get a refurbished one from Dtv for 49.99 ---that comes with a 1yr warranty. That's probably your best option. Amazon also has refurbished ones for 79.99.

I doubt your issue has anything to do with the firmware updates. It's simply defective.
