Can I program RC 73 remote to control the TV using a Directv Stream receiver?
I bought a RC73 because I don't like the key layout of the regular DIrectv Stream remote. The RC73 works correctly controlling the Directv Stream receiver right out of the box.
I'd like to program the RC73 to also control the TV's on/off and volume.
I've tried the Sytem/Settings/Remote option but it di not work.
ANy suggestions?

You might be able to manually program the remote to your TV here is the information for programming this remote!

I cannot guarantee that this will work as this remote is actually made for the Directv Genie Sat box but it at least might help you to try and accomplish what you are trying to do! But I do have a question for you are you able to access everything with this remote like the guide and recorded programs list and the apps like you would with the remote that came with the box?

Hold mute+select until the green light blinks twice, press 1 ( give slight pause green light should blink twice again) then put in the code for your tv from that website link
