Can't Pull up keyboard on directv stream remote to log into directv stream box

My directv stream box is asking me to login, which is fine. It says "click ok for keyboard" which I do, and then the field clears, but there is no keyboard to pops up. I've tried pressing nearly every button on my remote to get a keyboard to pop up, but can't get it to work. 

any guidance here would be great. I feel like an (Edited per community guidelines). I have tried two different directv stream remotes. 

I can't sign in because I can't get a keyboard to pop up so I can actually put in my credentials.

Where did you buy your dtv stream box? Go to your account details on the dtv stream website---then choose my streaming devices--manage. Turn "auto sign in" on. You can also try a red button reset.

Hmmm. That might be why I have an issue? I was a beta tester for the box, so I never actually bought it. I don't have a "manage devices" tab in my profile account. 

I've tried resetting and I still have no luck with a keyboard popping up.

Was the box working fine and then it just started asking you to sign in? The manage devices is not under the profile tab--it's under the "overview tab" You should just contact them on live chat or twitter support and ask them to replace it. If u have a firestick, roku, apple tv u could use that til u get a new one.

Yes, the box has worked for years without issue and then it asked me to sign in again, and the keyboard won't pop up for me to do so. I'll check into this again. Yes, I use the app on appleTV but I've gotten used to the ease of the box. Go figure. Thanks for your help.

I have same issue.

I was part of ATT Beta Test.

C71KW-200 worked well until an upgrade occurred.

Now it wants me to logon but I have no way to do so

No "keyboard "pops" up!

Do a hard reset and it will fix it. Hit the red button for 20 seconds until you see the full restart. That was the only thing that worked for me. The customer service repped did that with me after running through. The re-boot sequence takes a while but it worked for me.

There was no way I could get the on-screen keyboard to display. After a few hours I came up with the idea of using a wired keyboard with a USB connector into the C71KW. Typed in my DirectV User ID & Password and all worked well. The secret was the USB connected keyboard.
