Direct TV streaming box powers off randomly

Began my streaming service approximately 2 years ago and have been very pleased with it. Recently the C71KW-400 box has begun to power off randomly. Sometimes it's within minutes and sometimes it can be several hours. Can't find any definitive information on what causes the problem, or how to correct it. I've seen how to reset the box or how to check for updates to the software, but I don't want to loose all the stuff I have recorded. Is there a fix, or do I need a new box?

Hi @deereff. Your device may turn off randomly due to overheating, loose cables, or hardware issues. To fix it:

 

- Restart by briefly pressing the red button.
- Check for updates to ensure peak performance.
