We need more info. What streaming device are you using, has this been a problem in the past, etc.

I am using the Direct Streaming TV “black box.”
No, it was never an issue, but I recently(2 weeks ago) switched from U-verse to Stream.

@Chelsea51 your specific TV may have an HDR setting preventing the DIRECTV STREAM box from defaulting to it. If not, you can try a red button reset and/or try turning on HDR after a reset.

I have no red reset button on my remote.

when I go to settings in the system, I toggle on HDR and am asked to restart, which I do. After restart, the HDR is toggled off.

@Chelsea51 the red button reset is on the physical box. As stated before go into your actual TV menu to see if there is an HDR setting.

Most folks with the C71K DirecTV Stream box find that the video looks better with HDR OFF.

You are better with it off, anyways. Picture looks better with HDR off and then in the settings for display 1080p. I have a Samsung 4k tv and that's what I have it set to and the pic is a 1000x better with HDR off

This may be true, but I’d like to be able to judge that for myself.

The C71K reset button is on the side panel.

I finally got this to work! You have to have the Display Setting on 1080P first for that toggle to work and stay on. Try that.
