The only equipment fee would be for the AT&T TV box if you desire it but it's not required. Any supported stream device can be used with the services. All these details are available on the main website.
And even the DirecTV streaming device doesn't have an "equipment fee" - they sell it to you (either as a one-time payment or $5/month for 24 months), after which you own it and there are no further fees. (The list of all supported devices is here.)

DIRECTV STREAM has 2 different ways to get a receiver.
You can choose a one time payment of $120 or, if the account is eligible, you will pay $5 a month for 24 months
