How to stop gemini remote from turning on AV receiver

I have a gemini air device and a Samsung TV connected to a Denon AVR-X1000 AV receiver.  I want the remote to turn on the Gemini Air device and the TV but not the AV receiver.  But the remote insists on also turning on the AV receiver.  Every attempt I have made to remove control of the AV receiver has failed.  The remote just re-adds control over the AV receiver.  Most of the time I just want the AV receiver to operate in a passive pass-thru (off) mode.  How do I stop the remote from turning on my AV receiver.

Hi, @tlveik. To stop the Gemini Air remote from turning on the AV receiver, reset it. Here's how:

- Press and hold the Home and Exit keys simultaneously, until the LEDs on both sides display red.
- Press 981 on the remote control.
- The LEDs will turn Off and then blink blue 3 times on both sides.

After unpairing, you might need to pair the remote again to control only the TV:

- Press and hold the Rewind and Fast Forward buttons simultaneously.
- Blue LEDs on both sides of the remote begin to scan back and forth.
- Once successfully paired the LEDs blink blue twice.

Followed your instructions, the leds blinked just like you said they should.  Didn't help.  Still turns on my AV receiver, which I don't want

Thanks for the link.  I spent 40 minutes on the phone with the lady.  She picked up the call almost immediately, which was nice.  But she finally admitted defeat and said that the only thing I can do is unplug the AV receiver when I don't want it turning on.  Bummer.

I am having this same issue with my Denon 3800 AVR. Super annoying. This only started after the latest Gemini update

I decided to try the "unplug-it solution".  It turns out that doesn't work either.  That kills the HDMI pass-through function of the AVR which otherwise allows HDMI from the Gemini device to pass through the AVR to the TV even when the AVR is turned off.  This problem needs to be fixed.

BTW my AVR is a Denon AVR-X1000.

I have the same issue using a Sony AVR. Tech support was unable to resolve the issue so I am forced to unplug my AVR for now. Hopefully there is an update coming for this.
