The error code 10006-008 indicates performance issues of your internet connectivity, for that reason, we recommend that you follow the next steps:
1- Restart your internet modem or router. 2- Then, restart your DIRECTV STREAM device by pressing and releasing the red button on the side, or by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

When do you get the error? Is this when you are playing a video play back?

on startup it tries to load channel 2 and the comment is we have a Glich retry and I do to no avail, Error Code 10006-008

Try using ethernet. Also do a red button reset.
