Picture Clarity

The picture clarity has gone downhill dramatically in the last month or so and after calling tech support several times they finally sent and charged me for a new gemini air to resolve this issue. I have originally have been using a gemini (AT&T branded) set top box and was guarantied this would resolve the picture clarity issue. It does seem better but now any time I press the guide, home or list button it turns on my Sony AVR. Worked several hours with tech support changing many settings, factory reset, etc. but nothing stopped this from happening. For now I am forced to unplug my AVR to keep it from powering on. This never happened with my original gemini box. Hopefully there is an update coming to resolve this as it seems you can not disable CEC control no matter how you set it. Very annoying.

If I was using a sound bar for audio then this would be a good thing. But I occasionally use an Audio Video Receiver (AVR) to listen audio in surround sound.

@sm2779

is Gemini Air Connected to the TV HDMI or the SONY AVR?

If Connected to the AVR -Make sure the HDMI Port in the AVR setting is set ENCHANCED.

If attached to the TV - and then using the AVR the GEMINI will get confused --NOTE if you look in the setting of the Gemini when you program your REMOTE - it has to be set up one way or the other. Either Sound comes from the TV or it comes from Speaker system.
