Plug & Play TV Sets for DirectTV Stream

In going about trying to get my client (who is a U-verse customer) set up with DirectTV Stream I was told that there were some TV brands that were "plug & play compatible", i.e. that if you got the right brand and model, that you could simply run a CAT6 patch cable from the network jack directly to the TV set and not worry about having to get a "streaming box". The rep mentioned Samsung but said he didn't know about any other brands and was vague on if it was limited to only certain models. Where can I find a comprehensive list of brands and model numbers of TVs that are directly (plug & play) compatible with DirecTV Stream, without having to use a set-top box? I'm not interested in any add-on devices like Amazon Fire, Roku Stick, etc, by the way. I want to go straight from the network jack to the TV via a patch cable and be able to access the various DirecTV Stream packages. Thanks!

Thanks. So, Samsung is the only television brand that is "plug & play" compatible with DirecTV Stream, such that you don't have to use a box?

We're here to help @Travis_Lloyd!

Yes, the DIRECTV STREAM compatible list that @bcbsncjlj provided has more TV brands that work DIRECTV STREAM App will work on such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV.

Please let us know this helps.

@DIRECTVhelp

Thanks, but as far as an actual, physical TV set goes (not an add-on device like Amazon Fire, Roku Stick, etc) Samsung is the only current brand / manufacturer that offers direct "plug & play" compatibility with DirecTV Stream, i.e. not requiring and additional box, is that correct?

Hi again @Travis_Lloyd.

You are correct, at this time SAMSUNG TV is the only device that offers "Plug and Play" compatibility with DIRECTV STREAM.

In case you get other brand TVs, it's necessary to get any other compatible devices.

Your client will be mad at you if set them up with a Samsung TV and the DirecTV Stream App. It's got all sorts of problems now.
