Recording of Shows on Cloud DVR

If I select a show to record and the previous show runs long, like the (Edited per community guidelines) NFL, my show starts when the prior show ends, but the show still ends at its regularly scheduled time.  This causes me to lose the part of the recorded show that goes past the normal end time.   How can I get the show to run longer so I can see the whole show.  This happens constantly because Sunday night football and Monday night football never end when they are supposed to.

It's not perfect and not every sport event is supported. The best thing is to also record the show after the event.

There is no way to extend the recording time.  If my show falls on a Sunday I always record the show after to make sure that I have my whole show.  There are too many times I have had to go on-demand to watch a show because it aired later than what the guide said and I hate the fact that in most on-demand shows you cannot fast forward.

Thank you for your answer.  I figured I was going to have to do that.  Dish at least allows you to extend the recording, so you don't miss anything.

I haven't found the on-demand feature yet.  On Dish, which I am thinking of dropping, the on demand is exactly what they played, and you still miss the show.
