Sound issues.

When I first started with AT&T Streaming the sound was fine.  a couple of months ago I started having issues with the clarity of the sound.  I am using a Denon receiver. I have talked with tech support and got very little practical help. The sound seems like it is far off even though the volume is not bad. In addition frequently it wavers up and down.

The problem is the worst when I am using any of the apps. It is better when I am watching a network show.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Personally I think the streaming device is defective.  So far I have been promised a new device 3 times but somehow it never gets shipped.

How do you know it's not your Denon receiver?

Because it works fine with other inputs.

Should have said that in your original post. Have you played around with the audio setting changed it back and forth between stereo and surround?

Yes I have tried everything I can try. Hence my conclusion that the problem is with the streaming device.

The digital audio setting on the DirecTV Stream (C71K) box is a bit flakey. My Denon AV Receiver has the same issue with no apparent center channel and the audio spread out between the right and left channels. It sounds much better when the C71K is set to output STEREO audio.

My other DirecTV Stream box is connected to an older Sony AVR via its digital audio output. Sometimes it has this problem when turned on, but mostly it doesn't. Puzzling.

Thanks for your input. If in fact it is not possible to get good sound quality and at a higher level than just stereo, that sounds like a good reason to use something other than Direct TV Stream. I cant think of a reason to sacrifice sound quality in order to use it.

My Rokus with the DirecTV Stream App don't have this audio issue.

Do you get all of the same channels with the Roku.  I have an LG TV and I dont think it has the Direct TV Stream app. I'll look again though.

@jimgramling

Roku, FireStick, DirecTV Stream box, etc .... They all have the same DirecTV Streaming channels. You're right. There's no DirecTV Stream App for LG TVs, so you'll need something like a Roku.

Hi @jimgramling, that's a great question

You would get the same channels because that depends on the package you get, and also the LG SmarTV isn't compatible with our app yet.
