Stream device remote will not control volume on my LG TV
I have been through the setup many times, but the remote will not control the volume on my TV. Tech support guesses that the remote is not compatible with my LG TV. If that is the case it is a unexplainable and severe limitation of the remote's capabilities.

.....and what do you want any of us to do about it! It happens. Just use your TV remote to control the volume and enjoy the service.

So I am just supposed to accept inadequate technology? I am starting to think that Directv Stream is not ready for prime time. I am in the buyer's remorse period.

I don't know about accepting or not. But no one here will fix it. If you can not program the remote then it's a Stream issue and you need to deal with them.

It's most likely your fault anyway. I know several people on here with LG tv's that don't have that issue. U probably don't have the remote programmed correctly in the settings.

Learn how to program your DIRECTV STREAM remote to control sound bars and TVs.
We hope this helps!

I spend an hour on the phone with tech support. Their conclusion was that the remote was not compatible with my LG TV.

And the response from the employee was not a link. I searched on line and found a tech support article which just ran through all the steps that the tech support person did on the phone.

Mine programmed OK on my LG OLED C1 TV. But it was weird because when it was through and asking if the Volume raised on the TV, I didn't notice and tried about 8 times before it worked. Also, "IT" raises the volume instead of asking ME to raise the volume to see if it worked. I didn't catch that for a while. That's strange.
