The latest update to Gemini causes my AVR to turn on unexpectedly
The Dec 30 update to my Gemini Air now causes my Denon AVR to turn on when it's not wanted. I have HDMI control set to off in the AVR, and Anynet CEC is off in the Samsung tv. This was done to prevent the AVR from turning on unless it's done manually, which had been working as expected. Now, when I press "home", "guide", or "list" on the Gemini remote with the Tv on and AVR off, the AVR will power on. Very Annoying.

Hi, @Moodysj. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and that's definitely not the experience we want for you. Restarting the Gemini Air device usually fixes problems. Just press and release the button on the back of the device. You can also try a full power cycle by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

Yes, I tried the power cycling. Same result. The AVR turns on unwantedly. Looking thru other posts on this forum, it looks like you are having this same issue with others.

Same issue here using Sony AVR. Tried plugging Gemini air into receiver instead of tv and same result. Tech support was unable to resolve this after changing everthing setting on tv, receiver and Gemini air. Tried using a CEC blocker and then had no video. Had to unplug AVR to stop it from powering on. It seems as if the control for CEC on the Gemini air is set to on no matter how you set it. Need an update from Directv soon!

I have a similar problem. Last year, my setup worked flawlessly with my Samsung soundbar attached to my Samsung TV using ARC and optical. Usually the soundbar is in "digital" mode versus ARC mode which used to work. I can get sound working properly manually using soundbar remote. Sound work fine until I switch Gemini Air to Guide, List, etc. at which point it causes the soundbar to switch over to ARC (which has no sound on it). So I too have problems switching to Guide, etc. since the software update.

I have this same issue on my onkyo receiver, if I turn on any other device that powers up the receiver the gemini turns on swaps input and starts streaming, and it has no options to turn off the hdmi cec on the gemini.
